Veterans Day

Veterans Day
Veterans Day, Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, they're all the same depending
on the country in which you live.
They all commemorate the cessation of The Great War (War World I) which ended at 11 AM
November 11, 1918.
It's a day to honor our fallen veterans who gave unselfishly of their lives
to preserve our freedoms.
Take a few moments on Friday to remember these fallen heroes who have
fought in so many conflicts.
May God bless our servicemen.

Bodie Light

Bodie Island Lighthouse is only one of the many lighthouses that do the North Carolina coast.
It's one of my favorites because it's the first lighthouse on the way to Hatteras Island
where we vacationed and lived over a thirty year span.
We still live close enough that we can visit for old times sake.
Click on the image to download the desktop to your computer.
I hope you enjoy the images of Bodie Light as much as I.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day-clicl to enlarge Veterans Day in USA is Remembrance Day in other countries;
a time to remember those service men who gave their lives for our freedom.
Veterans Day was established in 1919 following WWI when many
of our soldiers lost their lives in foreign lands fighting the "Great War".
The cemetery image is Flanders Field where 368 Americans were laid to rest.
The poem "In Flanders Field" was penned by Lt. Col. John McCrae in 1915.
Please take time this week to remember our fallen warriors from all conflicts
and reflect on the freedoms they have protected.
God Bless America!
