Autumn in Pennsylvania

This is a painting by Thomas Moran painted in 1864 and depicts Cresham Glen on the

Wissahickon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The area has been preserved but the city has grown up around it so things have changed

along the Wissahickon since he completed this work.

I really miss Pennsylvania this time of year because of the vibrant autumn colors that we don't have on the southern coastal plain.

I've made this pink lotus desktop to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Remember a friend or a loved one who has battled breast cancer by sending them a

Since we moved to North Carolina

I have been fascinated by the fig trees that grow in our area.

Misted Seagulls

I love seagulls and especially their songs.

We always vacationed at the beach and when I awoke the first morning

to the sound of gulls I knew I was "home".

We now live near the coast and frequently hear the gulls out on the sound.

The picture was found in the public domain; I used a filter on the original to

give the appearance of the mist that rolls in with the ocean.

Independence Day (Fourth of July)

July 4, the day we celebrate our nation's independence from Great Britain

and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

It is a day of celebration in the US with picnics, parades, and fireworks.
