Nativity

I wish you a Merry Christmas with a desktop of the Nativity, painted by Adolf Hölzel in 1912.
The bible verse I used from Isaiah is also a verse used in Handel's "Messiah",
one of my favorite musical scores.
This is a large size desktop; you can find a standard size Here
I wish you a blessed Christmas and hope my desktop will remind you of the
"Reason for The Season".
Enjoy!

Covered bridge

I have been fascinated by covered bridges for decades and my home state of
Pennsylvania had more than it's fair share.
I used to take day trips just to view the bridges near where I lived.
This is a picture of Stonestown Covered Bridge in Pennsylvania;
the background is a tiled image of the interior of the bridge.

Confederate Rose

We just returned from South Carolina where the Confederate Rose is in bloom;
not actually a rose but a beautiful Hibiscus. This is a picture I took while vacationing there.
Unfortunately, these stunning bushes don't grow where I live as it gets too cold in N. Carolina.

Sunflower

I love sunflowers and this time of year they seem to be everywhere;
especially popular in home decor.
Even saw some beauties last week in the floral shop at the local super market.
The desktop is an adaptation of a tutorial received from Winni's group by light creation

Roses

Flowers, my passion!
I fell in love with this painting, Roses, by Joseph DeCamp (1858-1923)
and immediately knew I had to use it for a desktop.
The rose image has been misted, put on a new background
and enhanced with a reflection of the roses.
This is a large size desktop: if you need a standard size you'll find that Here
I hope you like Joseph DeCamp's Roses as much as I.

Hummingbirds

The Hummingbirds are returning to our area;
the males are back and I expect the females to arrive any day.
That's when the feeders will get busy.
I'm using a painting by Martin Johnson Heade (1819-1904) which is public domain.
I used a tutorial by our Chris which you can find here
Thank you, Chris, for such a great tutorial!

If you need a regular size you'll find that here
I hope you enjoy the hummingbirds as they arrive in your neighborhood.

Orchid and Hummingbird

Decided I needed something to remind me of Spring; our weather has been so
dreary with clouds and rain the past weeks.
The image of the Orchid and the Hummingbird is from a painting by
Martin Johnson Heade (1819-1904) and in the public domain.

Belted Kingfisher

I saw one of these delightful birds the other day and had to do a desktop in honor of the sighting.
I love these little birds as they sit above the water waiting for a tasty morsel
to make them dive for their meal.
This image is in the public domain and obtained from USFWS
